Peconic Bay Vineyards
by Krissie Wines
Peconic Bay Vineyards is our East Coast operation. It provides us with a maritime growing
climate, sandy, well-drained soils, and the ability to grow vinifera grapes. Our cooler
growing climate is at the same latitude as Bordeaux, making it perfect
for some of your old-world favorites.
Crisp attack with an appetite-whetting acidity and a lemongrass aroma. The finish is sharp and assertive. This wine is more akin to a French Sancerre than a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It will pair well with fresh oysters and a mignonette.
Broad aromas of apple and pear on the palate due to the blend of 5 different Chardonnay clones. Those "northern fruit" aromas carry through to the finish. This is a crisp food-friendly wine that will pair well shellfish in a lemon sauce.
Grapefruit up front with a dry mid-palate. The risdual sugar is well-balanced by the tingly acidity. There is the barest hint of petrol in the dry, chalky finish. This is the perfect wine for those who think all Rieslings are sweet.
